I Know Because I've Been There

I didn't wait for recovery to find me. I chose to move toward it.

At 33 Years Old, Everything Changed.

During the height of the COVID pandemic, I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I was 33 years old.

Triple negative is like entering a storm… unpredictable, aggressive, and unrelenting. But I knew one thing instinctively: I couldn’t just wait for recovery to come to me.

So I moved.

Through chemotherapy.
Through radiation.
Through my double mastectomy.

Not perfectly, not painlessly, but purposefully.

That decision changed everything.

About Rori Zura
Rori Zura Lymphedema Advocate

The Moment Everything Shifted.

After my double mastectomy, I received the news I’d been praying for, my lymph nodes were clear.

One week later, my surgeon called… They found micro-metastasis.

Another surgery, and a higher risk of lymphedema.

I took a breath.
Then I took action.

I asked my surgeon about proactive lymphedema management. I refused to wait for problems to appear (again) before addressing them.

That moment is where Foobs & Fitness was born.

I was done with reactive care.

I wanted to be proactive, and I wanted the same for every single person walking this road after me.

How I Show Up For You

Three principles that guide everything I do

Foobs and Fitness Pillars Movement is Medicine

Movement is Medicine

Exercise shouldn't be used as punishment or vanity. For breast cancer survivors, it's a clinically backed tool for recovery, strength, and reclaiming your body.

Foobs and Fitness Pillars You are the CEO

You Are the CEO of Your Body

You have more power in your treatment and recovery than you've been told. My job is to educate & empower you to make informed decisions about your own body.

Foobs and Fitness Pillars Proactive vs Reactive Care

Proactive Over Reactive

We don't wait for problems to appear before addressing them. We build strength, mobility, and resilience before they become issues. That's the Foobs & Fitness difference.

The Training Behind the Mission

Every certification exists because my community deserves a specialist, not an influencer.

The gold standard in personal training certification, recognized globally by medical professionals, hospitals, and fitness facilities. It means my programming is rooted in biomechanics, corrective exercise, and evidence-based movement science. Not guesswork. Not trends.

Women’s bodies are not smaller versions of men’s bodies, and they shouldn’t be trained that way. This specialization covers the unique physiological considerations of training women across every life stage, including hormonal fluctuations, bone density, and the specific demands of post-surgical recovery.

This program is built exclusively around the physiology of cancer treatment, covering chemotherapy side effects, radiation impacts, surgical recovery, lymphedema risk management, and safe exercise programming at every stage of diagnosis. This is the foundation of all my programs.

Breast cancer treatment frequently triggers medically induced menopause, sometimes suddenly and severely. This certification means I understand the hormonal, physical, and emotional complexity of navigating menopause alongside cancer recovery, and I know how to train and support you through it.

The Human Behind the Mission

When I’m not in the studio, I’m probably in my basement gym with my furbabies, blasting music and moving for the pure joy of it.

I’m a Long Island native, graduated from Arizona State with a bachelor’s degree in Design Studies, a tattoo collector, a lover of color and creativity, and someone who genuinely believes that laughter is part of the healing process.

Cancer didn’t just change my body. It changed my entire family.

My mom is a now 4x Lymphoma survivor, my husband is a testicular cancer survivor, and we unfortunately lost my soul-pet Fenix (who was by my side for everything my own diagnosis threw at me) to cancer in 2025.

Now I show up every single day for the community that deserves better, because they do.

That’s it. That’s me. Let’s get to work.
